Terms of Service
Effective June 14, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a contract between you and SLASHDAP LLC (“Patchfinder,” “we,” “us”), governing your use of quiltstudio.slashdap.com and related services (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to sell patterns or enter into payment transactions. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements.
2. The Service
Patchfinder lets you design quilts in a browser-based editor, browse and upload fabric swatches, track a personal fabric stash, save designs, and publish or obtain quilt patterns (free or paid). Some features are usable as a guest; saving work requires an account. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for your account and for keeping your credentials secure, and for activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use at support@slashdap.com.
4. Your content and the license you grant us
“User Content” means anything you upload or create on the Service — swatch photos, reference images, designs, patterns, profile information, and text.
You keep ownership of your User Content. You grant Patchfinder a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, modify (e.g., to create thumbnails, previews, and format conversions), publicly display, and distribute your User Content solely as needed to operate, provide, and promote the Service. For content you choose to make public or publish, this license extends to displaying it to other users consistent with your visibility settings. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except (a) for content others have saved or purchased, and (b) for residual backup copies retained for a limited period.
You represent that you own or have the necessary rights to your User Content and that it does not infringe anyone’s rights or violate law.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- upload content you don’t have the rights to, or that infringes IP or other rights;
- upload unlawful, harmful, harassing, hateful, or sexually exploitative content, including non-consensual intimate imagery (see §7);
- impersonate others or misrepresent affiliation;
- attempt to access accounts or data that aren’t yours, or probe, scan, or breach security;
- scrape, harvest, or bulk-extract content except as expressly permitted;
- interfere with or overload the Service, or circumvent rate limits or access controls.
We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
6. Copyright and DMCA
We respect intellectual property and respond to notices of alleged infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512). We have registered a designated agent with the U.S. Copyright Office (designation DMCA-1074207). See our DMCA policy for how to submit a takedown notice or counter-notice.
Designated agent: SLASHDAP LLC, 522 W Riverside Ave, Ste N, Spokane, WA 99201-0581, United States, legal@slashdap.com.
Repeat infringers: we will, in appropriate circumstances, disable or terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe.
7. Non-consensual intimate imagery (TAKE IT DOWN Act)
We prohibit non-consensual intimate imagery (“NCII”), including AI-generated or altered depictions. If you believe such an image of you (or someone you represent) appears on the Service, report it at our NCII reporting page. We will remove validly reported NCII, and any known copies, within 48 hours as required by law.
8. Patterns, designs, and the marketplace
Patterns may be free or paid. A pattern’s block structure and editor access are open to all users; the paid artifact is the creator’s downloadable PDF, which is gated behind purchase. Buying a paid pattern grants you a personal, non-transferable license to download and use that pattern’s PDF for your own quilting; it does not transfer ownership or permit resale or redistribution. Creators who publish patterns are bound by a separate Creator Agreement, provided when you publish.
9. Payments and refunds
Paid transactions are processed by Stripe; by transacting you also agree to Stripe’s terms. Prices are set by creators. Refund and chargeback terms for digital goods will be presented at checkout when paid patterns become available.
10. Our intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, branding, and content we provide (excluding User Content), is owned by SLASHDAP LLC and protected by law. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use the Service per these Terms.
11. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties (e.g., Supabase, Stripe, Vercel) and may link to third-party sites. We are not responsible for third-party services; your use of them is governed by their terms.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that yardage/cutting calculations or fabric identifications are accurate. You are responsible for verifying measurements before cutting fabric.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SLASHDAP LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, and our total liability will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US $100.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold SLASHDAP LLC harmless from claims arising out of your User Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or law.
15. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or as needed to protect the Service or others. Sections that by their nature should survive (ownership, licenses for content others retained, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, dispute terms) survive termination.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
17. Changes
We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we will provide notice (e.g., by email or in-app) and ask you to re-accept. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
